2019 DCHC Charity Concert – Together, We Make a Difference

Good evening everyone! My name is Emily Huang, and it is my privilege on behalf of the DCHC board to welcome you to our 6th annual charity concert.

DCHC, which stands for Dallas Children Help Children, is an organization that is committed to helping children around the world. Our mission is to give students in the Dallas area the opportunity to utilize their talents to make a difference and change the lives of children in need.

In the past, DCHC has successfully held five charity concerts. The donations from these concerts have gone to Save the Children Nepal Earthquake, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, and Silver Lining Missions.

This year, DCHC is fundraising for an organization called Feed My Starving Children.

FMSC was founded in 1987, and provides food for malnourished children around the world in the form of MannaPack meals. The organization serves in Asia, the Caribbean, Middle East, Africa, Europe, South America, and North and Central America.

From all the volunteering our team has done with FMSC, we have heard the stories of many children who have been saved simply by the meals provided by this organization. What specifically impacted me were the parallels that could be drawn to each and every one of our daily lives. Every day, we go to bed with full stomachs. Millions of children, however, will go to bed hungry tonight. And every day, we go to work and school, blessed with the opportunity of an incredible education and job. But even at this very moment, millions are fighting just to get food in their stomachs.

And this is why DCHC is so special. DCHC gives us the ability to unite the children here to help children all over the world. Today, we have talented students from all over the Dallas area, who have rehearsed countless hours, in addition to many more who are here to volunteer. These students are supported by hundreds of parents and teachers, and together we are able to create a community that can make a significant contribution to the future generation.

Together, we are making a stride towards FMSC’s mission, which is to “reach everyone, until ALL are fed”. Each meal cost less than a quarter, so every dollar helps, and each and every one of us can make a difference by donating.

DCHC has made such an impact in the past; let’s continue this legacy for many years to come. If you would like to donate, there is a donation box outside the North door.

Without further ado, let’s begin tonight’s performances! I encourage you to stay for the entire performance, to support the students, teachers, volunteers, and board members who have worked so hard to make this event possible. Make sure to silence all cell-phones and electronic devices.

Online donation to DCHC is welcome. It can be done via Chase Quick Pay:
