Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the Global Goalkeepers Award at Lincoln Centre by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in New York on September 24, 2019. After being bestowed with the award PM Modi said that the honour does not belong to him but to the crores if Indians who made the initiative a part of their daily lives.
