In response to the COVID order to stay at home, the City & County of Denver partnered with several agencies to turn the Denver Coliseum into the city’s first 24/7 shelter for women. There, women found a safe place to stay, food to eat, showers, laundry, medical care and access to social services. The results surprised guests and service providers alike.
The I Am Denver team spent many hours in the shelter, hearing from guests and staff about their experience. Watch here to see what they said about a model that could change how services are provided in the future.
