LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Matthew Hon Ferguson Jr. drove to Pennsylvania in June, picked up a teenage girl and drove her back to his Lafayette home, where the two had sex a couple of times.
Ferguson, 25, is now headed to an Indiana prison for 10 years after he was sentenced Wednesday for sexual misconduct with a minor and promotion of sexual trafficking of a child, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Ferguson pleaded guilty last month, according to online court records.
Police went to Ferguson’s house on Sycamore Street on June 20 after receiving a missing juvenile report from police in New Castle, Pennsylvania, according to prosecutors.
That’s where they found the teen, according to prosecutors.
In a July 9 interview with police, Ferguson admitted he knew the girl was underage and thought she was 15, according to prosecutors. He told police he had sex with the girl twice, and he also admitted picking the girl up at her home in Pennsylvania and driving her back to Lafayette.
After his stint in prison, Ferguson will be supervised by community corrections for a year, followed by two years on probation, according to prosecutors.
