Let's Ditch the Food Labels #shorts

Making peace with food means that you no longer see food as the enemy.

How do you do that?

You start to allow yourself and give yourself permission to have all food guilt free, without any labels.

I know that may sound really freakin’ scary.

When you do this, you’re taking away the novelty of the food.

When it’s no longer special or has any meaning to it when you eat it, it won’t have the power to make you feel guilt or shame when you eat it.

What you’re really doing is restoring trust in yourself so that you can be relaxed around all foods.

How do you do this?

Start with one food that feels safe.

Follow your hunger and fullness cues.

If you’re soothing or distracting yourself from your emotions with food, practice other ways to support yourself. Be gentle and notice what you really need.

Eat the food when you’re hungry and when you want it. Eat mindfully. Notice how your body feels while you’re eating it. Notice how you feel after.

It doesn’t need to go perfectly. Whatever you notice in this process is a big step forward to feeling free around food.

Are you open to giving this a try? If so, comment here and let me know which food you’re going to try it with.
