Let’s start the conversation…
MACC Charities Community Kitchen is a safe and friendly place that anyone who is in Manchester from 11:30 – 12:45 and is hungry, is welcome to take a seat at our table. Guests are greeted by our Chef, seated and served family style by volunteers. Chef, Staff and Volunteers then do table touches to get the Guests’ input on the quality of the meal and their experience, just like anyone would be treated in a fine food establishment.
Our Chef prepares an all-one-can-eat, noon-time meal for an average cost of $2.97 per person.
We serve an average of 115 meals a day which = $341.55 a day x 6 days = $2,049 x 53 weeks (which includes 6 Sundays a year) = $108,612 a year.
Would you provide one meal for one person? If yes, this is what it would cost you:
One meal ($2.97) = cost of an average coffee.
Six meals for the week ($17.82) = the cost of a specialty coffee and breakfast sandwich.
A month’s worth ($77.16) = the cost for a family of four to go to the movies with snacks.
One year (or 53 weeks to cover our 6 Sundays) ($944.46) = the cost of eating out once a month for 12 months at a fine restaurant, for one.
Did you know…?
Many of our guests tell us that MACC’s Meal is their only meal, and others confirm it may not be their only meal but it is the most substantial meal of their day.
