RESET 2020 “Philanthropy Intentions & Directions During and Post COVID-19” Part One – 25 June 2020
3 Philanthropy Sector Leaders:
Sarah Davies, CEO, Philanthropy Australia
Sarah will discuss the results of Philanthropy Australia’s recent research, where 100 trusts and foundations shared their current focuses and intentions related to grants and impact investment for the coming financial year.
Jodi Kennedy, General Manager, Charitable Trusts and Philanthropy, Equity Trustees
Jodi oversees $120 million in philanthropic giving per year, one of the largest stewards of trusts and foundations in Australia. Jodi will share the impacts on trusts and foundations as a result of COVID-19, and speak specifically to engaging with trusts and foundations at this time.
Dr Catherine Brown OAM, CEO, Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation
Catherine will take us behind the scenes of the devastating impacts across the sector, the changing needs of the community and where LMCF and other funders are putting their focus to deal with the impacts of COVID-19.
The RESET 2020 Research Study and session registrations from hundreds of organisations have identified many questions about philanthropy and funding – such as the opportunities and practical support available; the impacts on funders; giving in an era of bushfires, floods and COVID-19; what philanthropy is doing to champion the sector; and what funder intentions are for the coming financial year.
So, we brought together five sector leaders in a two-part series to help answer these questions. We covered various perspectives including rural and regional, community foundations, trusts and foundations, private philanthropy, trustee companies and more.
