Rhode Island man facing federal sex trafficking charges

BOSTON — A Rhode Island man has been accused of moving five women around the Northeast and to Las Vegas for prostitution purposes, often using force or threats against the women, federal prosecutors say.

Ronald Hall, 48, of Woonsocket, was indicted earlier this week on five counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation of an individual with intent to engage in prostitution, the U.S. attorney’s office in Boston announced Friday.

An email seeking comment was left with Hall’s attorneys.

Hall trafficked five victims between Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Las Vegas from at least January 2012 until last December to engage in prostitution, often using force and the threat of force, prosecutors alleged.

Hall remains in custody.

He faces a maximum of life in prison if convicted of all the charges.
