This video presentation is to serve as a challenge to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education in Jamaica to collaborate in building better breast cancer awareness in schools. It is an assignment for my graduate studies in the course School and Community Issues.
Special thanks to Dr. Point-Johnson of American College of Education for this assignment. Also, thank you to the Jamaica Cancer Society in allowing to shoot on site.
More health screenings are necessary in Jamaica to combat the surge of breast cancer. About 300 women die from breast cancer every year in Jamaica (Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 2019).
