Two Rochester high school students, Amber and Amanda Torvund, presented the Women’s Shelter with food, clothing and toys bought with money they raised themselves.
They raised about $800 from a bake sale at their church in Rochester, then turned around and bought food and other necessities for the women’s shelter.
The Women’s Shelter operates primarily on donations.
They said they have been very lucky this year.
Last month, Give to the Max Day brought in a record amount of donations for them, and another fundraiser at Kasson Dollar and Video brought in another $5,000.
