Three Arrested in Suspected Sex Trafficking Bust

An investigation into alleged sex trafficking by the Scottsbluff and Gering Police Departments and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office led to today’s execution of four search warrants and the arrest of the following individuals:

  • James “Jimbo” Gutierrez, age 65, of Gering

Charges:  2 counts sex trafficking ; 1 count 3rd degree sexual assault

  • Jeffrey B Calder, age 60, of Scottsbluff

Charges:  1 count sex trafficking; 1 count possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) ;  2 counts possession of a short shotgun

  • Justin Kumm, age 39 of Scottsbluff

Charges:  Felon in possession of a firearm; Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)

In addition to the primary agencies, investigators with the WING Task Force and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted with the operation today.

Officers seized a number of firearms, suspected methamphetamine, cellular telephones and other electronic storage devices.

This is an ongoing investigation and we encourage anyone with information to contact the agencies that are involved.
