A Toronto man is facing human trafficking charges after coercing a woman he met on a dating app into the sex trade, Durham police say.
According to police, the man met the 19-year-old victim, forced her into sex work, and took money from the payments.
He was located and arrested on Thursday at Toronto Pearson Airport, attempting to flee to another province with the victim, investigators say.
Police say the man has ties to Hamilton, Barrie, Toronto, and Peel Region.
Sydney Bunkuna, 22, of Toronto faces several human trafficking charges and was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators are working to confirm whether there are other victims.
